iCloud knocks iWeb out of position

A new report today shows that iWeb will officialy be discontinued when the full transition into iCloud has taken place on 30 June 2012. Apple will no longer hold a hosting service and have told users they eill have to find another solution. This is confirmed in a recent e-mail which was sent to Jobs and was confirmed to be legitimate:

Q: Dear Mr. Jobs,

Will I need to find an alternative website builder and someone to host my sites?

I have invested a lot of time and effort and the thought of re-training sucks more than mobileme ever did.

A: Yep.

Sent from my iPhone

iWeb didnt get a major update last year when iLife '11 was announced and has only had minor bug fixes regarding the software. Do you thonk Apple will officially discontinue iWeb in iLife 2012?

New Mac OS X Lion feature found, Chrome OS-ness here we come

A new feature was found today in the developers build of Mac OS X Lion. This feature kind of brings the Chrome OS to Mac by having a feature called restart to Safari, where users will be able to boot the computer straight into safari without having access to any personal files or applications. This reminisces of Googles Chrome OS which is a web based only operating system.

Mac OS X Lion will be available only on the Mac App Store for $29.99 or £20.99 in July.

Macbook Air release this Wednesday? UPDATED

After the Nuance screenshots in the new iOS 5, @ChronicWire from Twitter has tweeted:
As in our earlier report Apple seem to be preparing the new Sandybridge /Thunderbolt equipped Macbook Airs for a June/July launch because they have only started to produce the new ones a couple of days ago, hoping to make 400,000 this month alone. Also sources have told 9to5mac that Apple will be holding one of their retail store overnights on tuesday, now this could back up reports from ChronicWire about the new releases of macbook airs but also could be the new mac mini's or mac pro servers release too. Apple could also be moving parts away from their disappearing software wall or maybe a new time capsule.

@Chronic wire is a trusty resource, so maybe we really will see the new Macbook Airs launch on wednesday?

We also have information suggesting that Apple may be launching there back to school promotion on Wednesday, well this will be interesting to see what really happens on wednesday morning.
